Tell me more about your business (what do you do, who do you help, what does your workday look like, how do people find out about you).

I am a Naturopathic Doctor and Reiki Master, as well as a soon to be certified Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT) practitioner. The majority of my clients are women between the ages of 25-65 who are seeking holistic and individualized support as they transition through the hormonal phases of their lives. I either work virtually from my cozy home office or I see clients in person at our boutique office in Ottawa. The majority of people find me through word of mouth from happy clients I’ve worked with in my 15 year career.

Dr. Ellen Simone, ND.

SHORT AND SWEET:

3 words you would use to describe yourself:

Adaptable, empathetic, warm

Always…

Lead from the heart and trust your intuitive guidance

Never…

Look down on others, we are all on our chosen path which is perfect for each of us

Favourite beauty regime, I mean you never miss this step, no matter what:

Moisturize my face and drink 1 cup of green tea a day

3 things you could not live without:

My family, caramel lattes, yoga practice

GIVE IT TO ME ADVICE:

What advice do you have for women who want to age naturally:

Don’t settle for the line ‘it’s just menopause, deal with it’. Explore your options to support you while you transition to the stage of wise womanhood. There are so many options available such as nutrition, natural supplements, herbs, homeopathic remedy and cosmetic acupuncture which I offer to women every day who chose not to settle and instead embrace this transition.

If you could tell your younger self one thing that you know would have a BIG impact on the current version of you - what would it be?

Trust your process and don’t worry so much, everything will work out in its own time according to the plan your Higher Self has mapped out for your life.

How do you relax your nervous system? Or best nervous system relaxation technique.

My favourite relaxation technique is to put on some relaxing music, set my phone timer for 3 minutes and do alternate nostril breathing to activate my vagus nerve and shift to the parasympathetic ‘rest and digest’ state.

Bucket list vacation that you hope to embark on in the next 5 years (where to, and why?)

I’m being guided to visit Scotland for a variety of reasons. First, I’ve always wanted to sleep in a castle. Second, my husband’s heritage is Scottish and we’d like to explore with our children and connect with the culture and history. Third, the very first book I was asked to read at naturopathic college was called the Findhorn Garden, which is located in Scotland. I’ve come full circle to Findhorn as I participated in a Gaia Sacred Circle Dance Retreat on the Heroine’s Journey and found out that this form of dance was founded at Findhorn.

In 25 years how would you like to be remembered MOST? 1 sentence or less.

I would like to be remembered as a stepping stone for others, as a point of contact and connection that supported them from one place to another as they transition through the phases of their lives.
